UDID Registrations

UDID (Unique Disability ID) cards are government-issued identification cards in India for persons with disabilities (PwDs). These cards are part of the Unique Disability ID project, initiated by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Key Features of UDID Cards:

  • Unique ID: Each card has a unique identification number for tracking and verification.

  • Centralized database: Helps in creating a national database of PwDs.

  • Paperless certification: Simplifies the process of obtaining disability certificates and accessing benefits.

  • Portability: Usable across India for availing schemes, benefits, and entitlements.

Benefits:

  • Easier access to government schemes (education, employment, healthcare, transport concessions).

  • Streamlined certification and renewal process.

  • Better policy planning and implementation by the government.

It aims to ensure transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity for persons with disabilities.
